Attention traders! The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) have made some crucial alterations to the expiry days of certain contracts.
NSE Update:
Currently, the Nifty Bank contracts expire on Thursdays. However, starting September 6, the weekly expiry for Nifty Bank contracts will shift to Wednesdays. It’s important to note that this change is only for the weekly contracts; the monthly Futures & Options (F&O) contracts of Nifty Bank will continue to expire on Thursdays as usual.
BSE Update:
From October 16, the BSE will move the expiry of Bankex contracts from Fridays to Mondays.
What does this mean for traders?
Starting October 16, the weekly F&O expiry schedule will be as follows:
1. Monday: Nifty Midcap Select and BSE Bankex
2. Tuesday: Nifty Financial Services
3. Wednesday: Bank Nifty
4. Thursday: Nifty 50
5. Friday: Sensex
This decision to modify the Bankex expiry was made after considering the feedback from a varied group of market participants.
