The new transaction charges for the Cash Market Segment, effective from April 1, 2023, are as follows:

  • Up to Rs 1,250 Crores: Rs 3.25 each side (reduced from Rs 3.45)
  • More than Rs 1,250 Crores up to Rs 2,500 Crores: Rs 3.20 each side (reduced from Rs 3.40)
  • More than Rs 2,500 Crores up to Rs 5,000 Crores: Rs 3.15 each side (reduced from Rs 3.35)
  • More than Rs 5,000 Crores up to Rs 10,000 Crores: Rs 3.10 each side (reduced from Rs 3.30)
  • More than Rs 10,000 Crores up to Rs 15,000 Crores: Rs 3.05 each side (reduced from Rs 3.25)
  • Exceeding Rs 15,000 Crores: Rs 3.00 each side (reduced from Rs 3.20)

For example, if a trader executes a trade worth Rs 1,500 Crores in the Cash Market Segment, under the previous charges, the trader would pay Rs 3.45 for the first Rs 1,250 Crores and Rs 3.40 for the remaining Rs 250 Crores (Rs 1,500 Crores - Rs 1,250 Crores). With the revised charges, the trader would pay Rs 3.25 for the first Rs 1,250 Crores and Rs 3.20 for the remaining Rs 250 Crores. This results in a lower overall cost for the trader.
